CONDEMN LATEST RACIST ABUSE!!!
CONDEMN LATEST RACIST ABUSE!!!

Please take a minute to write to the British press expressing your dismay that policeman David Yates told a Kurdish boy: "I will smash your fucking Arab face in".

Such racism should not be tolerated, and it is imperative that the media understands the extent of public revulsion so those outlets that haven't reported it will, and those that have will stay focused on it.

This issue must not be allowed to fade away. Greater media coverage will put pressure on the relevant authorities to right this wrong.

The uproar against the deeply inflammatory comments by Robert Kilroy-Silk and Will Cummins last year resulted in their dismissal from the BBC and British Council, respectively. If we make our voices heard, we can make a difference again and see that justice is done.

About

Action Alerts are issued no more than twice a week, in response to particularly good or bad reporting of Arab issues. They are designed to hone, galvanise and focus the lobbying capability of members and the public, and thus our effectiveness, where and when it is most needed. They are also suited to those who do not have time to engage the media everyday.
