Please email Daily Star regular columnist Dominik Diamond for stating on 26 September 2007: "There must be some NHS staff who aren't Arab terrorists, surely?" While Diamond uses comedy in his columns, this not only causes offence, but is also unnecessary as the article has nothing to do with Arabs.
The article is available at:
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/columnists/view/16457/Let-the-Beeb-run-the-NHS-they-can-handle-a-cat-astrophe/
Diamond's email is dominikdiamond@btconnect.com. It is imperative to remain polite when writing to him, no matter how offended you are, and to use your own words, not those of this Action Alert.
The Star does not have a regular letters page, and the Press Complaints Commission informed Arab Media Watch that they cannot do anything about this article because they only deal with discrimination against individuals, not groups of people, so our best hope of swaying Diamond's opinion is to engage with him directly and professionally.
Please bcc your emails to info@arabmediawatch.com, and forward us any correspondence you receive from him. Thank you.
