Complain to The Times & Michael Gove re Bethlehem!
Complain to The Times & Michael Gove re Bethlehem!

Please make your views known regarding a brief but deeply flawed article in The Times by columnist Michael Gove, published on 11 December 2007, entitled "Bethlehem and bigotry."

Gove's comments are easily and factually rebutted by a report entitled "Costs of Conflict: The Changing Face of Bethlehem," published in December 2004 by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and the Office of the Special Coordinator for the Peace Process in the Middle East (UNSCO).

It is particularly important that Palestinian Christians and people from Bethlehem write to The Times and Michael Gove to make their views known and show that he does not speak on their behalf. If you know any, please email them this Action Alert.

Write to letters@thetimes.co.uk, michael.gove@thetimes.co.uk and / or post your comment in the feedback section at the end of the article. Please be concise and polite, and BCC letters to info@arabmediawatch.com. If you want your letter to be published in the newspaper, indicate this in the subject line of your email (do not copy and paste the subject or contents of this Action Alert) and provide your full name, address and contact details. About

Action Alerts are issued no more than twice a week, in response to particularly good or bad reporting of Arab issues. They are designed to hone, galvanise and focus the lobbying capability of members and the public, and thus our effectiveness, where and when it is most needed. They are also suited to those who do not have time to engage the media everyday.
