Security Council Resolution 481 (19 June 1981):

"Considers that [Israel's] attack [against Iraq] constitutes a serious threat to the entire IAEA safeguards regime which is the foundation of the non-proliferation Treaty."

"Fully recognises the inalienable sovereign right of Iraq, and all other States, especially the developing countries, to establish programmes of technological and nuclear development to develop their economy and industry for peaceful purposes in accordance with their present and future needs and consistent with the internationally accepted objectives of preventing nuclear-weapons proliferation."

"Calls upon Israel urgently to place its nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards."

Security Council Resolution 487 (19 June 1981):

"Calls upon Israel urgently to place its nuclear facilities under IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] safeguards."

Security Council Resolution 687 (3 April 1991):

"Recalling the objective of the establishment of a nuclear-weapons-free zone in the region of the Middle East,
Conscious of the threat that all weapons of mass destruction pose to peace and security in the area and of the need to work towards the establishment in the Middle East of a zone free of such weapons, ..."
